#1701 1917 Foxtrot Bag

THIS IS A PAPER PATTERN - shipping charges apply.
Duck waddle, chicken scratch, bunny hug or grizzly bear; these are all dances from the Ragtime Era! The more recognizable foxtrot also comes from the animal dance craze from the years 1910-1920. We are sure this little hand bag dangled from the wrist of a stylish young lady or two as she duck waddled or foxtrotted across the dance floor.
This vintage pattern from 1917 offers the bag in two sizes. The larger bag will hold a wallet but not much more. The small bag is a lipstick bag. It has a drawstring closure and deep pleats at the sides. Use a crisp but lightweight fabric. Choose from either a traditional self-fabric casing or use a gorgeous ribbon for an external casing.
This is a fun and easy project. It makes a great gift and is a good pattern for beginners. Includes authentic period embroidery design and detailed embroidery instructions.
